Found an article of clothing stuck inside the washing machine. On inspection found a dented and cracked inner drum where the cloth was stuck.

It appears as if something became wedged between the two drums while the drums were in motion and has managed to dent the inner drum(& may be the outer drum), and also break the welded seam and put cracks in the drum.

What is the solution?

Is it possible to get hold of a replacement used drum? If so where can I get One?

If the drum is to be replaced, then what else should be renewed while I am at it, bearing in mind that the machine is ten years old?

What are the pitfalls while changing the drum, thing to be careful about etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

This is not a partiularly common model so you might struggle to find a secondhand drum. It would be easier to go for a replacement machine.

Found a reclaimed drum from a local repair shop.

The drum was out of an Electra AWM 1000, but is essentially same as the AWM 800 except that I had to swap over all the sensors etc.

Machine up and running now, but still checking for any leaks.

Very many thanks to Fido and the forum for the help provided.
