Hello all,
My Central heating and hot water was playing up so I had my boiler serviced and diverter valve changed about 3 weeks ago by Corgi reg company, however now 3 weeks later and boiler seems to be playing up again!

Sometimes if the heating and hot water are not working the red reset light will come on, if we reset, it works fine for a while. Other times if not working the red light (reset) will not show up so we switch the boiler off and back on and the boiler then fires up main burner lights up strong blue flames and will work.

Sometimes it goes through a pattern of producing hot water for about 10 seconds and then cold water for about 10 seconds, this seems to be because the boiler will go through the process of lighting main burner but after being light for a min it then goes out but because the hot tap is running it goes through the process again

Does anybody know what could be at fault?

Regards Wayne :?:

Its a little difficult for me to guess from what you have said.

It would probably be something do do with the PCB and ignition/flame detection system.

However, the obvious thing to do first is call back the company who serviced it to check that they did not disturb anything and that the diverter valve switches are correctly placed and working properly.

Is there any sign of water leaking underneath?

Tony

Hi Tony,

Many thx, there was water where they had not tightend up one of the nuts on the new diverter valve, which stained the celing underneath (boiler in the loft) but I tightend this up and does seem o.k. now, hence the reason I would rather fix myself as I know everything should be fixed correct then!
