Hi,

We are having our garden landscaped and it is currently just a soil base (albeit subsoil) as it is a new build property.

We have received one quote but the costs listed appear a little high and would appreciated some experts advice as to whether the costs given are reasonsable.

The decking timber is already purchased so the costs for the decking are for installation only.

Thanks in advance

Alan

Can't help with everything but can give my 2c for a few things

Stone circles can be expensive depending what stone you get, whats the diameter of it?

Is the turf inc laying it? If so then £4/m sq is good. I laid my own lawn and it cost £2.45/m sq for rolawn turf

Top soil seems to cheap to me. be wary of some topsoil suppliers who get it from skips, full of weed, glass etc. Got some topsoil from local farm dug from field and was £24 per ton supplied in a dummy bag, good quality loam to level in preperation for the turf is £40-50 ton

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. The stone circle is going to be 3m diameter.

I'm not sure where they get the turf from, however, I am sure it can't be worse than what the builder laid on the front lawn!!

we had a few quotes to lay paving and the average was £60 per m2 inc all materials labour etc, stone circle (indian sandstone) for around the same size as yours with a squaring off kit was £410

imposible to say from the info youve given. theres no specification as to how they are being laid and on what sub-base if any.

Speaking as a professional landscaper there really is no such thing as an average cost for landscaping. There are so many variables to take accont in the pricing of the work. I always look at any job i quote on.

access
material storage
existing surfaces to protect
uphill/downhill etc
etc etc etc

get a few quotes from REPUTABLE landscapers. If you want aymore guidance on what to look for feel free to ask
