On the M6 near B'ham the other day, I saw a BBC OB unit with

"D10 BBC"

What a total waste of our money...

BTW, if you're interested, it's a 2003 blue Volvo FH with 12.1 litre engine!

Tax due 01/03/08 and in band G the cost would be £1850 pa.

And I moan about my £115....

My boss wastes money like that, most of our vans have private plates.

I bet it took a few lience fees to pay for that BBC plate.

is it not posible that thyve had the plate for a number of years and just transfer it? Our local mayor has cd1 which they have had for donkeys years. they keep getting offers to buy it but refuse (until the price is right)

At least they've refused to get into a bidding war to win the rights to carry on screening 'Neighbours' :D

Lost something? No it didn't - that's nah-perfect!!

As for the plates, the D reg have not been out very long. Unlikely they got them issued just like that....

But why spend money on personal plates with BBC on? You might say they are an asset, but they're only worth what someone will pay for them.

And to transfer each time is costly.

Just the tip of the iceberg with wastage and the BBC. I'd like to know how they will justify the fee when it all closes down at Television Centre in October and moves to Salford with them getting the premises there for free with no rent being charged by Salford Council as a deal to get work into the area, another london premises sold off to Siemens and associates. less overheads, less staff yet no cut in licence fee, too many office staff sitting around sending unnecessary paperwork between unnecessary departments. whilst the ones that do the work BBC Resources sinks into oblivion.
