hi just went into loft to get something only i couldnt because the light bulb has gone and i can hear a dribbling noise we have 2 tanks in the loft 1 big one and 1 small one any ideas to what it can be i cant go in to have a look because like i said the bulb has gone and i dont have a spare one many thanxs

your domestic hot water tank (the big one) can run for a long while after you've used a hot tap, it shuts off very gradually. Its also possible that the water valve is passing(you'll notice the overflow dribbling first thing in the morning if this is the case). the 3rd probability is that you have a leak on your pipework-depending on which tank is running it may be on CH or DHW pipework, as that empties the tank it constantly refills it!

You need to go in loft with a torch and inspect both ball valves and see which one is dribbling and if the water level is too high so that it will exit via the overflow pipe.

ffs, someone wants people on a forum to guess what might be happening because his light bulb has blown as opposed to getting off his ar$e and buying a torch or a light bulb and finding out what is actually happening.
I give up, this is ridiculous. I just hope for his next door neighbours sake, that he never runs out of toilet paper.
