Many external factors influence the ability of the business to “supply”, such as public infrastructure, and training and education. Why should trade unions/workers be any less valid a contribution than a highly paid/ specialised role you refer to?

Lots of major rail projects going ahead in addition to HS2, including a link between Oxford and Cambridge. Market forces don’t create public transport infrastructure.
