best tool to use for cutting kitchen worktops to size?

Is there any way I can cut a whole on a kitched worktop at an angle so the cut piece sits back in?
I have a washing machine under the worktop and need to get the plug up the hole
Otherwise I will be left with abig hole with a single cable coming up

I do hope the probably long gone OP wasn't trying to install granite worktops. I've got this image of loads of bust power tools and granite rubble in his kitchen
