plastering tips please

i have a wall in my kitchen that needs plastered, however there is a hole in the wall about the size of a book. before i plaster, what should i cover the hole with.
any hints appreciated

Is it a air vent hole or just a crater like hole.

Air vent (if not needed) try and wedge some plasterboard in flush, and skim over.

overwise just bond/hardwall your hole, pva and skim

i would stick some no nails on the book and stick the book in !..


no , only jokin, cut back the plasterboard (horizontally) to the studs and board up with appropriate sized board. fit noggins if needed. then scrim tape round the joins
