Finishing Tool

I'm in the process of converting my garage into a new room and will be due to fix the skirting and facings, however up to now now I have always fixed them using the method of hammer and pins. I would like to invest in a new finishing gun or something similar for this job and new jobs to come so can I ask for suggestions on a good product and manufacturer that would do the job

The facing and skirting in 1" MDF

Budget is £100 - £150

I may have the opportunity of aquiring a paslode finishing gun for this price but this may be over the top for what I need

I have looked at screwfix and there is a lot on offer, just need a bit of advice on what is most widely used etc

your better off using pins

use a latex silicone that can be painted over

I use a 16 gauge nailer and No Nails, however, in my experience Passys cost a lot more than £150 in working order (circa £350 new), the gas has to be in date, the battery contacts tend to blacken or corrode and they require periodic strip down and servicing. A deWalt 16 gauge DC618 (?) coredless nailer may be a better bet (albeit expensive, and they can struggle with 30mm thick solid oak), although to be honest for £150 you can get a small compressor and a 16 gauge nailer.

As you can see I'm not really a fan of the Passy - every time I have to use one for any length of time I eventually end up wanting to throw the bloody things out of the window! I know I'm not alone in feeling that way about them

And you will want a separate gun to fire fixings into masonary when doing skirtings, think the axminster one gets good comments, which is air powered.
