Vauxhall cavalier help needed ?

Hi i have a 1994 1800 cc i and was wondering is it possible to change a hydraulic tappet without removing the cylinder head or camshaft and do i need any specialist tools.

Also could someone just give me a brief rundown on the procedure.

If your engine is like smaller GM engines, then you can buy a tool to compress the valve spring and then you can remove the cam follower, then you can remove the hydraulic tappet.
