How long does it take boss white to go off?

if you only used boss white it will leak, you need hemp with boss white, or just use ptfe tape, no need to wait for it to go off

Used ptfe the last time and i was still gettin weeps on 28mm compression fittings

Is there any particular way i should be applying the ptfe?

I know the direction etc but should i cover the olive or place some on the pipe water side of the olive?

Yours novicely obviously

sorry, thought you meant on threads

a smear of boss white around olive will be ok to fill straight away, over the course of a few years it will harden and make seperating the joint difficult but not impossible.

Do you use plenty of PTFE? I used to not use enough but was told by somebody to use 5 or 6 thicknesses (i.e. 5 or 6 times around a thread or olive). Works for me really well now in 99%+ cases.

don't you just love em when they wrap miles of it around radiator olives and you've got to pick it all off when it leaks.
