Hi.We have just bought a Mira Sprint 8.5 kw @ 240v
7.8 kw @ 230v
To relace our old 9.5 Gainsborough shower. We have a 10mm cable[underfloor and trunking] and a 40amp RCD aready fitted.
Would the Mira be ok with the 40amp RCD?Its just the instruction booklet for the MIRA[which covers the 8.5 and 9.5]states it must have a 30ma rcd.
Thank you.

look on rcd, should say rating + milli amp rating
ie, 40amp 30ma(milli amp)
if your ma rating is higher ie 100ma buy new if not get existing tested to make sure it trips between correct times.

I suspect you are talking cross terms. The 40amp 'RCD; you say you already I have I suspect is actually an MCB. You may not even have any RCD protection.

Ok I have just checked and I do have a 30ma Rcd,Will the 40amp MCB be ok with the above shower :?:
Many thanks

Even so, a heavy load for a B16 - if it is the whole kitchen socket load and an oven.
