For some reason all the upstairs lights in my house have quit on me (except the landing light at top of the stairs which works)

All the plug sockets work, and I have checked the fuses in the fuse box and it seems fine.

That is about my limit of electrical expertise....I'll check the fuses and if it ain't that then I am somewhat b*ggered.

Would appreciate any pointers. Or if you are a lottery winner then you can buy me a new house if your in a giving mood

Cheers

The landing light is prrobably 2 way switched & running off the downstairs light circuit.
Or
The landing light is the first light on the upstairs circuit & there is a loose connection on the feed to next light?

Are they re-wirable fuses?
If so you have probably got a blown fuse wire or (had a call out to one like this) the fuse wire has been over tightend in the screw & snapped, but will still look like its ok.

No because all I ever seem to win is £10.00 !

The landing light is on a 2 way switch (top and bottom of the stairs).

I'll give the fusebox another once over to see if it is a broken wire. Thats the more plausible one at the mo I reckon.

Sorted.......although it has thrown up another concern.

The problem was.........3 light bulbs had blown.
Never had that before where they had all gone at once. Thats why I didnt check that out initially. Doesn't seem 'normal' to me.

Anyway.......comms, appreciate you taking the time to give your input.

Cheers
