I've got a question about removing the plastric trim around uPVC windows: recently fitted windows, recessed about 2 inches with a plastic trim in the reveal and then another plastic strip on the outisde. I need to remove these pieces of trim before plastering, but prefer not to damage them or the window frame.

I had an idea that an adhesive was used to stick the plastic trim to the frame and to each other, and then sealant behind to fill the gap and stick them to the wall. If that's right what's the best way to remove them.

TIA

Thanks mod - that was an old thread I found on search that looked related I wasn't trying to hijack anyone else's party, I just didn't want to appear like I'm asking the same question again :)

Almost always fixed with silicone; if so shove a sharp scraper under one end of the trim & lever up, you should be able o pull the trim off but you may have to ease/ encourage it with the scraper as you go.
