Nothing wrong with that. However if you define being 'ripped off' as each time a business sells you something for more than they paid for it, then the only recommendation left is for you to close the door, turn out the lights and wait patiently for doomsday.

Gosh you are a negative one... Nixt.

I am simply asking a question, glad I have not asked you to call around and give me a quote!

You imply that profit = being 'ripped off' and call me negative.

This site is supposed to be more for those handy types who are looking to save money by attempting feasible jobs themselves, with a few practical tips.

Mehran fixes them under the warrantee.

Perhaps he can tell us what is unreliable about them.

When only one in about 300 needs fixing under the warranty as a result of a manufacturer's defect then they must be pretty reliable.

Tony

yes he does install large numbers of the hateful things.

what happens after the warranty? how long is it?

Band A two years and Band B one year!

However with a reliable boiler the warranty period is not very important.

Are you going to the ARGI meeting on the 23rd August Nickso?

Tony

er didnt i just do that?

which particular turd are you talking about? biasi being italian have fallen into the classic trap of calling all of their boilers by the same name

face it tony they are cheap s***te and time will tell with the new ones too.

i fitted one in one of my rental propertys about 10 years ago and it has been worth every penny and has never broken down ..... very good boiler

original poster, youve been qouted 2000 plus vat for an old system to new and your asking if the cylinder is worth owt - give the plumber a break mate... youve had a good price, what i would make sure of is he flushes the system properly if your not changing the rads after 30 odd years

Biasi boiler's , I don't know about the band A models , but we have fitted 363 of the cheap one's (2" were recently fitted for 2 oap's i got them to self purchase at B&Q discount on a wed') .
Can't fault the product have proved to be very reliable , some have been subject to some pretty heavy useage (abuse) , on 24/7 in commercial , install's never switch off , the old prisma s.r system's boiler's are the most reliable boiler's of there type we have ever put in , only 1 fault pcb 7 year's after install , spare's only spare's we buy with biasi name on it are pcb's , even went international with them 6 fitted in Spain , & we service them !!! the newer Band B biasi's I believe , (do) come with alloy recouperator's , bad idea in my view , B&Q still have old stock stainless steel boiler's if u are quick . My view's on biasi the company are somewhat different , I won't go there !! but I can't fault the product that we have used

I was told that that alloy outside recouperator has a stainless tube inside for the water but I have not seen it for myself.

There was a new budget Band A boiler introduced last year called the Activ A 25C ( also a 30C and 35C and system equivalents ).

Everything inside is different from anything else on the market even the Wilo pump!

It relies on serious software setup and fault codes with a small LCD display but all the programming is still by sequentially pressing a combination of the five control buttons with a soft touch squeezy buttons.

Until its been around for quite a while longer I would recommend sticking to the tried M96 and M110.

Tony

Any experience of fitting the new "Advance Plus"?
I'm considering one of these the 30C
or even the "Inovia"
Not actually seen one yet to judge the quality.

The Biasi M296 is about the most reliable and simplest boiler on the market.

Its effectively a Band B boiler which has been tweeked to just become a Band A
