Flue Liner won't come down for gas fire fitting

Hi,
I had a gas fitter round my house today to fit a new gas fire.

He had to remove the old flue liner (not sure if that is correct terminology?) before he could fit the fire so he tried pulling it out but it would not come away.

He said he has never come across this problem before so was unsure what to do - he said to give him a call back if we manage to get it out.

Has anyone got any ideas what I can do to get the liner out please?

Has he taken the clamping plate and terminal off

where is the clamping plate and terminal located and what are they?

Pretty certain he has not taken anything off just pulled on the liner which was hanging down into the space for the fireplace.

I suggest you find an installer who knows what they are doing.

Liners are removed by removing the flaunching and clamp then pulling out!
Access to the roof is required to fit a suitable termination anyway.

Your installer is a NUMPTY.

Are you sure this is not a DIY attempt?

you pull it out at the top, after sealing the fireplace opening so as to prevent a horrendous mess.

to comply with h & s this may require scaffolding.

www.fluestore.com has some pictures that will let you see and understand what the experts are telling you including a pdf brochure which shows an installation and how the pieces fit together and why you shouldn't be able to pull it down from the bottom

Baxmax why the fek would you do that , How are you going to get the GC1 and plate off not to mention the fibreglass or whatever else is used to fill gap at top.
Nearly as bad as what the half wit who tried to pull it out through the opening.
Who Fills us with confidence what is coming out of ACS centres and what corgi allows to be registered.
This is feking basic
