Vinny, some good advice above. I don't think cutting plasterboard is the way to go here. I plastered for the first time a few months ago, and surprisingly was really pleased with the results. Give it a go! Be sure to post some pictures of your finished result! Best of luck

Thanks. Just to clarify, do you mean attach the tape to both original wall and new wall, and then plaster over the bit of tape that's showing on the original wall? Sorry if i'm a little confused!

Hi all, I have build a new stud wall and plasterboarded it. Should I do anything specific (before plastering) where the new wall meets the existing wall at right angles to stop cracks appearing? I was wondering if I need to use a flexible filler before plastering or something? Cheers
