    Vinyl floor instalation

Shocking fitting that. The whole floor that size should be fully glued down. Better to cut the vinyl 1-2mm short then a clear silicone the perimeter. It’s nearly impossible to pattern match the colours in herringbone. Last time I did one I did the joint zig zag so you couldn’t see the joint.

    Screed thickness

On the floor we always screed the floor at 3-5mm with ardex NA , then DPM1c up the wall a inch , then another coat of NA or ardex CL and keep that away from the bricks about a inch. Worked well for us over the years.

    Screed thickness

I think he means a screeding compound. some people call a self leveller. Smoothing compound. What it could need is some ardex DPM1c moisture suppressant as well.

    Floor levelling compound rotten smell!

Ardex CL. All we use is ardex & uzin. When using a water mix you never go over the water limit as it’s makes the top surface weak and soft.

    Floor levelling compound rotten smell!

Mixed with too much water that. Should be more grey. Tap it to see if it sounds hollow. What floor covering is going down?

    Floor levelling compound rotten smell!

So shouldn’t be any damp then? The smoothing compound he’s used is a water mix not a latex type. Sometimes if the latex is out of day it can smell. is it grey or white colour ? Can you post a pic. if lots of cracks yes take it up. Should be easy if he hasn’t primed it ?
