Yes the light with the neutrals that weren't fully pushed in is now working and the light switch works to turn it on and off

I've pushed the neutrals in further and checked that both switch lives have power with my detector. One light works and the other does not. The living room and dining room lights are not working either.

Nothing has tripped. I'm not sure if the hallway lights have separate switches or work off the same switch. I've posted photos of the wiring.

The first switch on the 3 gang light switch still returns the landing light on.

I've just tried wiring it with switch live in light fitting live, all the blacks in neutral of light fitting and the reds wired into the connector block, two each side, and it's not working.

Yes you are right @RandomGrinch. I've just remembered that it was the plasterers that removed the old fittings hence no photo of how they were wired. So all the red wires should be wired in live of the new fitting including the switched live? So that's 5 wires into one live terminal? Then all...

I have old hard-wired smoke alarms and was wondering if there are any new ones that are compatible with the existing wiring adapter/harness. If not, is it possible to buy a wiring adapter?

Hoping for advice. I've used a wallpaper steamer to remove a border that has been up probably twenty odd year and it has caused patching when I've scraped the paper off. Please see photos. How can I rectify this? Also, there is a strip of paper in the corners. What is this? How can I fix it?
