It is just a standard 2x4 CLS16, so just a hair under 50mm thick. Could you explain what you mean here ^ a bit more?

Yes :) Interestingly, I've just now found that the saw also seems to get stuck in the up position. I pulled out the stopper pin to raise it but then once it was up, no matter what I do with stopper pin, I can't get it to come back down.
