    Looped Cable Check

Ah, that's a disappointment. I can't get around the cores and wouldn't even think of doing so. If it just showed some current that would be good enough to confirm to me that it's live as that is all I need to know. I don't need a measurement.

    Looped Cable Check

Hi. I have been thinking of getting an ev but I have an issue installing a charger because my electricity cable is on a looped supply. I’m pretty sure that it is active but I wanted to check as I vaguely remember my neighbour having a power issue and I thought they may have unlooped them to...

Texecom Premier Elite - Home Assistant Integration

I was excited to see this and maybe try it and then I saw that you have to disable encryption so that was the end of that.

Assigning a panic button to the texecom app

I appreciate all the help you give to users on here as you’ve also helped me in the past. All I meant to say was that I know the texecom system quite well now but I wasn’t sure what you were telling him to do or what he needed beyond the installer code.

Assigning a panic button to the texecom app

As someone who has installed my own elite 64w, 8xp and smartcom and therefore knows his system well i don’t have a clue what you’re trying to tell this guy who clearly needs more step by step direction.

    Replace Frames or Just Glass?

Hi. We had double glazing fitted with new upcv frames around 20 years ago and some of the glass units have failed. We are going to get some quotes to have them replaced but just wanted to ask whether the frames would also need replacing given their age ? They are generally in good condition...

    Induction hob v gas hob

We had a gas hob for years but as we had a new kitchen fitted last March we moved to induction and we absolutely love it. Because it sits close to the level of the base unit and has no physical controls it is so easy to clean and maintain. We had an electrician fit a new cable so we could go...

    Wiring CCTV - Hiding Cables

Mines from the late 70s. I think it has a cavity as I’ve drilled from inside to outside before and there was a gap between the bricks.

    Wiring CCTV - Hiding Cables

Hi. I am going to be fitting some CCTV cameras soon and I was just wondering whether I should hide the cables in the cavity via the loft or just tack the cables around the house. I intend to mount the cameras just above the first level of the house as I don’t want them too high or too low. I...

Premier Elite 64w - How To Set Up A Gate Contact

Hi. I have a Premier Elite 64w with the whole house set up as area a. I want to fit a contact to a side gate and set it so that it chimes if it is opened when the alarm is unarmed and it is in guard mode when the alarm is part armed. I don’t want it to be set at all when fully armed. Is this...

    Butt (UY) Connectors In Alarm

Just seen bootlace ferrules which I never knew existed. Are these recommended for use in alarms as I think they would make getting the wires to stay in whilst tightening the screws a great help.
