Aligning soil pipe and Geberit Duofix frame

Thank you. I will try to lower the frame and rotate the pipe so reduce the hump. Is there any tip on getting the soil pipe or flexible connector sitting tightly on the frame now that I am unable to use Geberit fitting?

Aligning soil pipe and Geberit Duofix frame

Hi I am trying to line up soil pipe for Vitra wall hung toilet using Geberit Duofix frame but the soil pipe branch is too high for Geberit 90 degree elbow connector that comes with the box. I am thinking to swivel the branch like the photo below and use a flexible pan connector to connect...

Add a switch to control whole lighting circuit

Thanks for the replies and many options for the switch. We have elderlies staying with us now and we keep having to take shoes off to switch off the forgotten lights so I'm exploiting the idea of having a "main" light switch by the front door. However, as some of you pointed out that it might...

Add a switch to control whole lighting circuit

My hallway light switch is the first beak point of my lighting radial circuit which uses loop-in-switch method. Can I add another switch before the hallway switch (which is by my front door) so that the new switch can turn off ALL the lights in one go?

    Fix stud over tiled wall?

Hi, I am updating my bathroom renovation and want to built a 10cm stud wall for pipes instead of chasing soils brick walls. I will be fixing timber studs on tiled wall (less work removing the tiles) and just want to check if that’s alright? I can’t find the answer on google. Thanks

Extending lighting cable inside stud wall

I am putting up a sound proofing wall and need to extend lighting cables. I have removed the wall lights and connected the joints using Wago connectors for now. Do I need a box/enclosure to box in wago connectors inside stud wall? The wall lights will be in the same spot, just extending them...

Moving telephone socket, junction box or extension?

Hi all, I've got a LJ3/1A socket in a very awkward place where it's by the front entrance and no electrical socket nearby. I am going to move it to new location but can't decide which option is better. I'd really appreciate some input please. option 1. Replace LJ3/1A with a junction box...

Toupret instruction says dry surface so I waited for OneCoat to dry.

How best to fill a chase?

I have used onecoat to fill up chases before. It's quite easy to use but finish isn't as smooth as multi unless you know how to sponge float. If I were you I'll deep fill the chase with Onecoat as a undercoat, and finish with toupret which is a fantastic product for surface finish.

    Wall after stripped of wallpaper

It looks from the photo you've not filled/sanded the wall yet? It also looks the some yellow paints were still peeling. You need to remove all the loose paint first.

    Wall after stripped of wallpaper

There could be so many reason why primer isn't sticking to the substrate. Is the wall very clean, absolutely no adhesive residue left, dust-free from sanding and equal smoothness? Are they blister bubble or tiny air bubbles? Does it happen on the area that's you've filled or previously painted...

Joncryl Primer or Zinnser BIN for skirting & architrave?

So I've created new problems for myself now:confused:. Just took a closed look of the skirting board and saw that I've melted some knots off the skirtings and architrave in the process of using heat gun. Also, some part of skirting had very a stubborn layer of OB paint that just wouldn't bubbled...

    Bathroom paint recommendations

I bought my Johnstone's from Paintshed. Great service and fast delivery too. They can help with all the colour matching. I've heard some good things about Easycare, apparently it's "almost" the same as Dulux Diamond just slightly thinner for easier rolling according to a handyman friend...

Joncryl Primer or Zinnser BIN for skirting & architrave?

Ty both for the replies and the informative discussion. A sale staff also warned me about difficult flow with BIN and recommended Fossa Block and Bond, I am almost sold when he said the price is half of BIN. Do you know the product? @opps I am not keen on OB Paint due to yellowing and the...

I used Johnstone's Acrylic Durable Matt in my bathroom, kitchen and hallway. It's similar to cleanable matt but has anti-mould ingredient in it.

Joncryl Primer or Zinnser BIN for skirting & architrave?

Hi, I'm repainting skirting boards, architraves & door frames that had multiple layers of gloss paint in the last 50 years. I've stripped the paint with heat gun due lead paint present in the last layer (or the very first coat of primer/undercoat?). I would like to use Johnstone's Aqua Satin for...

    Wall after stripped of wallpaper

You need to clean/prepare the wall first. Scrape off peeling paints and wash the wall with sugar soap and hot water to get adhesive off. Sand the wall over, fill the peeled-paint area with toupret fine filler and sand again until touch smooth. Apply acrylic primer then your choice of emulsion.

    Universal TRV heads?

The threads on TRV and lock shield valve connecting to rad tails are 3/4 imperial so I just assumed the iron/steel pipe is 3/4. I think you are right the pipe can't be 3/4. Not only the vernier reading is 21mm-22mm OD, the nut on rad tails are considerably larger than the nuts on pipe so pipe...
