Paint roller for Zinsser Perma-White Anti Mould paint?

What paint brush did you use? I contacted Zinsser. They said they recommend using a short to medium pile mohair roller. I searched online for mohair rollers. They mention they are for things such as woodwork, but don't mention its for ceilings. Also, a lot don't come supplied with trays. So it...

I have a question about bulb suitability for a chandelier ceiling light. The chandelier uses 3 candle type bulbs. It says on the chandelier Max 40W. However, now that bulbs are LED the wattage is different to the older type of bulbs. i.e a 25-watt LED bulb is similar wattage to a higher...

Hedge trimmer power cable - New plug?

The hedge trimmer is a Bosch 450 watts. According to what someone said in the comments in this video, to open the trimmer it requires a T20 Tor-X screwdriver to remove 10 screws. Then also requires a T20 screwdriver to take a screw out from the middle. When they say it needs a T20 for the...

Hedge trimmer power cable - New plug?

The section of the power cable that is broken is near the hedge trimmer. So if using a two pin connector, it wouldn't be on the ground while the hedge trimmer is in use. Would the best option then be to repair the power cable instead and cover it with heat shrink tubing? Or is it okay if the...

Hedge trimmer power cable - New plug?

Recently, a family member accidently cut the power cable when using a hedge trimmer. I've looked for tutorials on how to repair the power cable, but they say it requires things such as a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing. So I'm thinking, it might be best just to cut the power cable where...

    Door trimming service?

I live in the Nottingham area. I had a look online again. I see there's a company that does door trimming for £35 per door which seems a good price. However, I can't find any reviews for the company. Should the lack of reviews not matter as its a small job...

    Door trimming service?

Thanks. Another question. Does a handyman take the door outside to trim it so they don't make dust and mess indoors?

    Door trimming service?

I recently had a new carpet fitted in a bedroom. The carpet is good. However because of the thickness of the carpet and the 8mm underlay, the door is very stiff and only partially opens. I've looked online to search for a door trimming service, but most companies shown don't seem to specialise...

    Fixing jammed window (faulty mechanism)?

The type of uPVC window it is, the handle is at the bottom of the window in the middle. The handle opens okay, but the window is jammed and won't open. When pushing it, there is some slight movement on the left side of the window, but on the right it seems to be jammed the most.

    Fixing jammed window (faulty mechanism)?

Is it possible to fix a jammed window yourself or does it require a pro? The window is a Safestyle uPVC window. It has a faulty mechanism so doesn't open. One company quoted £96 to fix it. Is that price steep?

    Black and Decker drill?

Yes, I'm looking for a drill for no more than about £60 as I don't intend to use it regularly. Is it worth considering a refurb as on eBay they are about £25-30 cheaper than buying brand new?

    Black and Decker drill?

The house is 1930s. No, I don't think the drill has hammer action. Are there any particular brands of drill you recommend?

    Black and Decker drill?

Its mainly for drilling wood for fixing loose floorboards, but also things such as putting up curtain rails. The old Black and Decker drill is 12V and it wasn't powerful enough for drilling a hole for a curtain rail in one room. So it seems a 12V drill isn't powerful enough for drilling through...

    Black and Decker drill?

I'm looking for a new electric drill that can be used for drilling and using as a screwdriver. I'm considering a Black and Decker drill because I've got some drill pieces from an older B&D drill so I guess these would be best compatible. However, I've recently read some reviews of B&D drills...

    Loose Floorboard - Screw/nail?

How far down into the floorboard should the pilot hole be made? I've read a few guides about pilot holes, but they didn't mention this. Also, is it best to use a countersunk screw? Would a non countersunk screw make the surface of the floorboard not flush enough or should it suffice?

    Loose Floorboard - Screw/nail?

I'm thinking of using Screw Tite screws. However, the Black and Decker drill I have is rather old, its from about 2001 so I'm not sure if the battery will charge anymore as its years since I last used it. Can these type of screws be fitted using an electric screwdriver or is an electric drill...

    Loose Floorboard - Screw/nail?

I've added the photos. The width of the joists the floor board is resting on is wider than I remembered it to be. On one side its 2.5cm wide. The other side is 1.5cm wide.

    Loose Floorboard - Screw/nail?

I've got a problem of a loose floorboard that was cut by a tradesman years ago. The length of it is about 35 inches long. I've had a look underneath. Each end of the loose floorboard is resting on two joists. The width of the joists appears to be only about 1cm wide so there doesn't seem to be...
