    Removing personalised number plate

Not really that long ago in the scheme of things you could go into a shop and ask for any number plate you needed without any paperwork to support it. Bit like weighing stuff in at a scrap yard, can still be done without many questions in practice???

Adding two extra loft lights to existing light

I think most sold for lighting was 4T rather than 3T also with 4T you could make some of then separate switching as i only 1 lit or all three lit option inside the loft and your exising switch making that selection only yes or no (on/off), Anyway a few options for you to consider.

    Removing personalised number plate

It was "Something" along those lines as I remember it but may not be 100% accurate but you pretty much get the gist of my meaning hopefully. Must have been 20 years ago plus or minus a few. I did once, a long time ago and jokingly saying I would consider changing my name by deed pole to DKU F823...

    Removing personalised number plate

Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear, I am rather baffled by all of this. Firstly, let me state my opinion about personalised number plates just for the record. My opinion is that, in the main, people get personalised number plates for vanity .Spending money without reasonable cause just to get a car reg...

    Is it just me

Well it`s a bit frightening really, if you let it get to you. There have always been people who are totally wrong about some aspects. many aspects, of wiring a plug but amazingly compounded by these so-called aids to have at least one glaring omission of some good practice we were all taught by...

    Is it just me

Yes it was taught in schools. What I have seen recently is terrible. Standards have really gone downhill.

    Is it just me

Is it just me. Wiring a Plug, how many examples shown on the web etc are very poor? one very basic thing they nearly all seem to miss is stripping back insulation with lengths appropriate to mitigate cable (flex) pull out. Cord grips should be strong enough for the job but even the best can...

One set of under cupboard lights not working

yes remove the plinth or plinths (also known as kickboards) and shine a light underneath, you might need a mirror at the back to have a gander if it goes upwards behind base units/wall units) you might even find some kind of junction bow or three as well as a transformer/driver. One handy tip...

Plug in solar, what do you think?

Them were the days, nowadays it is rare to see a coalman, although one used to deliver the smokeless stuff to a yard in our back dtreet up until say 10 to 15 years ago. When we were kids it was a common sight. Those bags were damned heavy.

Plug in solar, what do you think?

was not a CWT (hundredweight) 112 pounds? It was a long time ago they were in everyday use - my Dad knew a coalman who after many years experience manage to badly cripple hiself on one of his liftings) it used to be not uncommon for some trades to consider lifting 1 CWT and refusing to do so...

    Doorbell issue

Tha`s a good idea too (providing noise to occupants and others is never likely to be an issue) I think a few points to bear in mind have been suggested to the OP, hopefully of some help for consideration.

Plug in solar, what do you think?

I think John might have a point there!. The difference between a spur or a plug in for one is you can easily move the socket used therefore which part of the ring it introduces at. With a spur it is more of a fixed place, providing you at least do a "back of a fag packet" rough calc you can find...
