    White Internal Door Recommendations

I hadn't noticed that. I was using the photo as a reference. Thanks for pointing it out. I'm not keen on the woodgrain effect and just want plain white flush doors. Any suggestions? Anyone? :)

    White Internal Door Recommendations

Hi everyone, I'm in the process of redecorating my flat and need to replace eight internal doors with white doors and completely flush, without any grooves or grain etc. All the doors are 4.5cm deep and approximately 198cm X 76cm. I was wondering whether I should have my existing doors painted...

Help Please - New Outdoor Light Fixture

Thanks @terryplumb and @Harry Bloomfield The waterproof junction box that you suggested wouldn't fit in the void behind the light fixture, which is only about 2.5cm deep. Any suggestion for something that will? Thank you again and apologies for all the questions, just want to make sure that I...

I've attached images of the instructions as well. It says "class 2 luminaires MUST NOT be connected to an earth terminal. It also says that they are for indoor and outdoor use. IMG_20220317_201712 by Ducky posted 17 Mar 2022 at 8:18 PM IMG_20220317_201738 by Ducky posted 17 Mar 2022 at 8:18 PM

Help Please - New Outdoor Light Fixture

Thanks @terryplumb. See answers below. No unfortunately not. The wires went straight into a bulb fixture. Yes, it's that metal X shaped piece that is attached to the wall in the first image of my first post. If you look at the link in my first post, it says that it's for external use...

Help Please - New Outdoor Light Fixture

Hi everyone, I need to replace an old (20+ years) bulkhead light fixture on my balcony with a new one, but am having an issue. The old fixture had red, black and earth wires (see 1st image), and the new one only has a blue and brown wire (no earth)(see 2nd image). I'm aware that the red and...

    Questions about a Dehumidifier

Hi all, I've recently had a leak in my kitchen, which is above my living room, due to a faulty water filter. The leak is now fixed, but has seeped into the false ceiling between my kitchen and living room and has caused dampness on the walls and ceiling (see image). The water filter company...

    Window Replacement - Approximate Estimate

Thanks for the information. Truth is that I need to change my windows as they are 20+ years old and hardly provide any insulation. The freeholder isn't taking any responsibility (they never have for any residents in my development) so residents have started footing the bill and changing the...

    Window Replacement - Approximate Estimate

Thank you. Yes it is a flat, but there have been other tenants in the block (who I don't know personally) who have managed to get the required freehold permissions, so I am hoping to get the same.

    Window Replacement - Approximate Estimate

Hi All, I'm contemplating a project in my home where I replace the entire window (four panels at the bottom and two panels on top) in the image below with a single panel of double-glazed glass, like in the second image. The dimensions are 126cm X 195cm. I wanted to get a rough estimation of...

    Issue Installing Bathroom Extractor Fan

No loft access unfortunately. Note that I don't really care about the finish or the saw blade. Happy for it to be single use.

    Issue Installing Bathroom Extractor Fan

Hi all, I need to slice off a section of a ventilator shaft to fit a larger bathroom extractor fan. See first image. I need to remove the section from above the groove as the groove is blocking the new extractor fan from going in. The easiest way to do it would be a Dremel, but I don't own...

    Issue Installing Bathroom Extractor Fan

Follow up question - I don't own a dremel tool, but I do have a power drill (Bosch PSR 1800 LI-2, see specs below). Any chance I can use this as a dremel? If yes then what kind of saw blade would I need to get and how would I attach it to the drill? Note that the ventilation shaft is plastic...

    Issue Installing Bathroom Extractor Fan

Tried, didn't budge :( Probably the most plausible option given the circumstances. When you say "cut it down" are you referring to the fan or the ventilation shaft groove? Would appreciate it if you could please explain this option :)
