    Tiling on plastered wall

Hi. I will be tiling my bathroom soon. I've used hardibacker to replace on a section that has plasterboard dot n dabbed to the brick wall. The other walls are plastered block work. The plaster seems to be solid. Do I need to score the plaster or straight to prime before tiling?

    Painting over Shiny wall paint

Hi Have some purple walls in the new house. The paint is very shiny. I was wondering if it could be gloss but it doesn't come off in the same way the door frames strip. Would I have to sand the shine away before a fresh coat?

Thanks for all the replies! I'm so confused now about what to do! Would cleaning and then lining the walls with paper do the job or would the stains come through the paper?

    Decking paint

I've heard that ronseal isn't that good. Heard it flakes off quickly. Would this be due to poor prep work?
