    Bathroom floor layers

Ok, I have undone the plywood and I put an insulation board with adhesive and the screws Unfortunately my pattern recognition was not working properly at the time. I hooked up on some other pattern I wanted to avoid but then somehow I put two exact tiles next to each other in the exact...

    Bathroom floor layers

Just a side note. Isn't easier to dismantle the floor in the future if I have this layer of plywood so the floorboards don't have adhesive on them and won't get damaged during the dismantling?

    Bathroom floor layers

Ok so I take off the plywood then. Where can I get the right SBR? Topps Tiles has this BAL Primer that has bad reviews. Should I buy Sika Bond SBR+ Waterproof Bonding Agent and Mortar Admixture - 5L or KA SBR Bond Co-Polymer Bonding Compound 5l from WIckes. OR BOSTIK SBR ADMIXTURE WHITE 5LTR...

    Bathroom floor layers

I know that the floor is going to be higher than it was originally. Before there was a similar 5mm plywood and floor covering. I reckon 8mm in total. Let's say I take off the ply and use only STS this will be 10mm STS + 10mm tiles + 2x layers of adhesive another 10mm? So I end up 22mm higher...

    I dislike Trickle vents

Hi again, I have taken down these plastic covers on all the downstairs windows. I had it blocked completely on the inside since winter. Haven't noticed any condensation or humidity going over 52% as of yet. Can I simply fill in the holes with expanding foam? Then cut the excess and I was going...

    Duraflex aluminium+zinc welding

Hi, Has anyone done some welding with a blow torch? What blow torch have you used. I think on mine the output is too small or the item radiates the heat too soon because I was unable to heat it to desired 390C to melt the Duraflex rods. Please advise. Best

What is the name of this wood screw with a washer?

Hi All, I am going to DYI some ledges for pets and I don't know what is the name of these screws? You drill a sufficient hole, screw it in then you have this washer and a fastener. Thanks

    I dislike Trickle vents

On another forum someone has suggested trickle vents that open when the humidity in the room goes beyond certain point. But this new regulation about trickle vents on EVERY window is a ridiculous idea. It should be down to the owner to control the humidity in the house regardless if they are...

    Window vents brainstorm

I think the best arrangement is to leave vents of downstairs north facing windows and either south or north upstairs but downstairs south does not make sense as it only draws hot air in summer.

    Window vents brainstorm

Are you talking about me? I asked about vents, which ones are the best candidates to leave. There are these 3rd party vents that open close depending on the humidity but I think I stick to manual as the relative humidity hardly changes.

    Window vents brainstorm

Hi Gents, I have all windows with vents. I also have a standard ventilation fan in the bathroom and twice bigger in the kitchen. Considering the house is old it all makes it a bit drafty to say the least. Currently I blocked all of the vents because of the winter but I want to re-commission some...

    Hole in the wall

Hi Gents, After removing old skirting boards I discovered a hole in the wall. Not sure if this is some old school ventilation in the bathroom but it's too big to my liking. On the picture on the left is the outside wall, on the right it's internal wall made of plasterboard. Should I brick it...
