That was unusual as it is often the inserts that become loose.

IF the plan is to run the pipe out> down low> along> and up to sink height then there will always be old water in the pipe which any new water...

Redo the solid pipe to remove the strain. Do it properly & do it once is my advice.
If you didn`t hold the valve tight in postion whilst nipping up underneath then the valve stem might have moved breaking the seal in the cistern....
If in any doubt check the log sheet for class of vehicle. Left hand side around four rows down.
