Thanks again, I can confirm I did as you said, took 1 battery out and pressed tamper spring 3-4 times and the new batteries are working fine now, no battery low warning.

interesting. I did just swap each battery at a time, rather than pull all out then put new in. How long a discharge is required? 10 seconds enough?

Do you know where's best/cheapest place to get a tub of ardex DPM1c? I don't need much. And then once it's down and set, can I just put the next part of flooring down on top, such as the ceramic tiles or whatever I choose? Any technique tips for applying it? Thanks

Mains water pipe enters house from front, this is also where stopcock is. At least 6 metres away from this space. This space is on the side of the house, where a driveway is located. There is drainage running under this drive to the main road. Most of house is wooden floorboards with water pipes...

Yes but the pipes to water, drains and boiler outlet tap are the other side of the kitchen, at least 5 metres away from this space.

There aren't any water pipes near this space, only gas pipes. The outside stopcock is the other side of the house. To the left is the outside (this wall had some mold on it and the most flaking paint on bricks. To the right is living room. The place I'm standing to take picture is kitchen.

Thats part of the mystery, not sure if water is actually seeping in from underneath, or there's just bad air circulation? This space is off the kitchen, so cooking steam etc could well get trapped in here.

Tap is dripping, I've taken tap apart this far. I would expect the unit nut to unscrew, but its either ceased or not supposed to be unscrewed after manufacture? Any ideas? Thanks
