Yale Wireless Alarm Siren Box - D Cell batteries replacement

As a follow-up to this, the 4x Varta Longlife Max Power D Cell batteries have only lasted just over 1 year, this is a shame, I was hoping they'd last about 3 years like the originals. I'll try a different type, just need to find out which to go for...

interesting. I did just swap each battery at a time, rather than pull all out then put new in. How long a discharge is required? 10 seconds enough?

Yale Wireless Alarm Siren Box - D Cell batteries replacement

The wireless Yale siren box takes 4x D cell batteries, the originals I got with it are powerone alkaline 1.5V Mono LR20, and have lasted 3.5 years (these are made by Varta). I just purchased and installed 4x Varta Longlife Max Power, but the low battery warning pips still sound after...

Cupboard under stairs concrete floor possible damp issue?

Do you know where's best/cheapest place to get a tub of ardex DPM1c? I don't need much. And then once it's down and set, can I just put the next part of flooring down on top, such as the ceramic tiles or whatever I choose? Any technique tips for applying it? Thanks

Cupboard under stairs concrete floor possible damp issue?

Mains water pipe enters house from front, this is also where stopcock is. At least 6 metres away from this space. This space is on the side of the house, where a driveway is located. There is drainage running under this drive to the main road. Most of house is wooden floorboards with water pipes...

Cupboard under stairs concrete floor possible damp issue?

There aren't any water pipes near this space, only gas pipes. The outside stopcock is the other side of the house. To the left is the outside (this wall had some mold on it and the most flaking paint on bricks. To the right is living room. The place I'm standing to take picture is kitchen.

Cupboard under stairs concrete floor possible damp issue?

Thats part of the mystery, not sure if water is actually seeping in from underneath, or there's just bad air circulation? This space is off the kitchen, so cooking steam etc could well get trapped in here.

Cupboard under stairs concrete floor possible damp issue?

https://imgur.com/5hQTolF For info it's a terraced house, gas pipes to the meter are in this space. Cupboard under stairs was full of stuff, mostly standing on the floor. I noticed salt crystals on lower bricks and paint flaking, also mold on outer walls (left). I should have taken a before...

Windows Rubber Seal Replacement - Outer Seal Only or Inner Also?

Thanks @ronniecabers The existing windows and frames are fine, some of the glass panes are misted though and I'll get around to replacing these at some point. I initially started replacing the uPVC door rubbers, due to water was actually getting inside the house and this has now fixed the...

Windows Rubber Seal Replacement - Outer Seal Only or Inner Also?

Daft question I know, but I only have a a small amount of rubber seal left, obviously I should buy more, but wonder if all windows have 2 seals, and if so which is the most important to replace? I expect the external seal is more important to replace, due to this would be where the weather gets...
