    Sentinel X800

Have tried to contact Sentinel - horse's mouth and all that! No response to contact email via website. And by phone 'how long do you intend to leave if in for? A week or two? Yes that's fine, no will not lose it's properties - bye!' Thanks!

    Sentinel X800

Any tips on the best way to manually flush with this i.e. just circulate in system and not powerflush? I have a vintage Thorn Apollo boiler, header tank with a TF1 filter fitted. The filter seems great at pulling in the magnetite, however the water bled from the radiators looks like strong tea...

    Yale HSA6400 Panel Battery

Thanks John Book just states to put in programming mode - there is no specific 'tamper off' for the system, only for the siren. So does the whole back of the panel have to come off for the battery change? Cheers

    Yale HSA6400 Panel Battery

I have finally got a battery! So to confirm, first I need to disable the tamper. The only way I can see of doing this is by putting the panel in programming mode? Then turn off the mains, then the battery switch under the rubber plug to off. I take it the whole back of the panel needs to be...

    Yale HSA6400 Siren

Hi all Is it possible to have two live sirens on this system? Out of interests there a maximum number of sirens, or are they just classed as standard devices i.e. total devices 20 max.? There is no cause for concern - I don't want to install 20 sirens!! Cheers

    Yale HSA6400 Panel Battery

I have now managed to source a replacement battery. What is the easiest way to change this over? Should the panel be put into 'change battery' mode, and this battery changed with the mains power still on? If the mains power is switched off, and the back up battery disconnected, I would have...

    Yale HSA6400 Panel Battery

Hi, I am looking to change the back up batteries in my control panel, as the current ones are pretty much life expired. Where is the best place to source? I have seen them in a shrink wrap with a connector lead on ebay. Is it a must to buy like this, or can the batteries simply be replaced on...

    Yale 6400 PIR in conservatory?

Thanks for advice. I will fit contacts to conservatory, and a PIR in the adjoining room. There is a radiator in this room, is this likely to trigger PIR? Cheers

    Yale 6400 PIR in conservatory?

Hi, is the standard Yale PIR suitable to be positioned in a conservatory, or will the fluctuating heat or light trigger the sensor? If it is not suitable, would the 'pet friendly' PIR be better? I appreciate this is not the same as 'conservatory friendly'! Cheers

    Stopcock issue!

Turned off the under sink stopcock to isolate the cold water supply. Stopcock turned fully, and the kitchen sink tap cold water shut off, as expected. Strangely though, the other cold taps in the house, both up and downstairs, continued to run freely, with no hint of shutting off. Am I missing...

    Toilet cistern overflowing onto floor!

Thanks for replies. So is replacing the valve with a brass Fluidmaster, removing the flexi between the valve and the flapper unit altogether, and trimming down the overflow my best option here?

    Toilet cistern overflowing onto floor!

Thanks, any ideas if the interconnecting flexible pipe will need to stay when the valve is changed? I have no idea what it is for!

    Toilet cistern overflowing onto floor!

After flushing, the cistern refills to its usual level, but then gradually keeps filling past the float. I appreciate this is probably something worn on the valve, and the best course of action is to replace the valve unit. However will a valve like a Fluidmaster be a suitable replacement for...

    Sentinel Eliminator Filter

Anyone aware of this filter - seen it, touched it, smelt it or even heard of it? It looks like a TF1 on steroids! http://www.sentinel-solutions.net/product/detail/central-heating/physical-devices/eliminator/

    Sentinel X400

Yes John. Had a theory of drip feeding the system X400, and catching the moving particles in my TF1! Really just wanted to know if this is a viable technique, and if so what quantities of X400 to add.

    Myson Apollo 30/50 cutting out.

So two gas engineers later, and neither has found an airlock or sludge in the system. Both agreed on one thing though - they do not know if the pump is failing. Wow!
