Mouse Curser doesn't always display on bootup.

Well, I finally decided to update from 2004 technology and bought a new "plug and play" mouse. And yet the same problem occurs. Intermittent failures on mouse pointer showing on bootup.

    Crack around window again

We inherited the windows when we moved in (the horrible ones with the plastic pseudo georgian criss cross) At least the new ones are more contemporary without clashing with the age of the house.

    Crack around window again

Thanks, some helpful advice. When we moved in there was already crappy upvc windows installed, which we had replaced 5 years ago. About 9 years ago, while those older windows were in, the upstairs window had water pouring over the top of the window frame into the bedroom when we had torrential...

    Laying Victorian reclaimed tiles outdoors

I managed to salvage some old Victorian tiles for the back door step. I took up the existing slabs that were laid on sharp sand. replaces with new sharp sand and laid the tiles. I then brushed it over with light kiln sand to finish it off. They looked very nice. However, since a couple of...

    Crack around window again

This crack line has been here for a few years. Nothing major but I tackled it earlier in May with a sand and cement (4 sand/1 cement) mix with a little plasticiser. As I didn't have the red dye, I improvised using brick dust before it set. However, I am disappointed to find it already cracking...

    Failing putty

The water is definitely not getting in under the felt, unless of course rain is so hard driving it splashes up but it has never leaked and I have never seen water running down from the top of the window. All the water that has leaked has done so at the bottom (of the edge where the putty has...

    Failing putty

I have taken these images to show the layout of the shed as best I can with a phone. Please ignore the mess, I am in the middle of a sort out. As you can see the roof overhang stops rain getting into the vey top of the glass which is why I didn't (under the advise of Tiger) putty the top. The...

    Failing putty

I was actually referring to the more expensive tubes, and merely suggested the £5 (recommended by Tiger Sheds who designed it) as an alternative if I have to buy more than one. I'll dig out the putty (sigh) and go over the top of the glass with the tube putty (expensive one recommended here) as...

    Failing putty

If I have to do it both sides it would mean buying more than 1 tube of sealant for 4 sheets, making the job perhaps over costly for what it is worth. The strange thing is when I had pvc sheets just sitting on the frames with no sealant, the water didn't leak in. The reason I replaced them was...

    Failing putty

Ok, I was told by Tiger sheds that just doing from the outside is enough as it would be such a pain (pun intended) to take the glass out again trying not to break it as it's so awkward.

    Failing putty

I agree with you, the puttying is bad but I just found it hard to manipulate without the proper tool. I think I will dig it all out and use the sealant above from the outside. Thanks.

    Failing putty

Its a nightmare. Now the rain has come and it's getting in higher up at the side and cascading down because the putty has cracked. This brand is garbage. Will painting over it seal it ?

    Failing putty

Well I have re-sealed with newer putty and already after this rain it is failing. What I don't understand is it has linseed oil in it which is water tight and yet it gets through. I have pressed it into the end of the glass hard where the tiny gap is and yet it gets through.

    Failing putty

Yes positive as I tested with the hose from the outside and watched it fill the other side. There is no condensation on the inside.

    Failing putty

I have sealed sheets of toughened glass from the outside on my potting shed by placing the glass in the recess and pressing in the putty from the outside so it gets into the gaps being so called water tight. However, after a few days of being water tight it has started to let in water as you can...

    Sealant that doesn't mold

A few years ago I posted this same question about a white sealant that will not attract black mold and was recommended Dow Cowling. Well I can tell you that it is no good because black mold has grown on a lot of it in the last few years. Even more extraordinary is the very old sealant that was...

    Damp wall inside wardrobe cupboard

The room adjacent to the bedroom is my studio which has the exact same cupboard backing on to it (both cupboards are back to back having one side on outside wall) I was wondering if I drilled a hole through the wall that separates, fit a vent it would perhaps cure the problem in both rooms ? We...
