Thank you . We have very hard water so certainly could have scaled up although this seems to have happened suddenly so probably failure of valve cartridge I would imagine. Looks like we might be heading for a new shower if we can't get parts. ☹

Bumping. Is it the thermostat that's on the blink or some kind of controller issue? The temp control knob no longer has the control through the temperatures. If the water is too hot and you turn the knob just a few millimetres it is then too cool. Fed up with not enjoying my showers anymore...

Thanks for your reply. We have very hard water. The pump has been in 11 years. No trouble at all but never serviced or touched since fitting. Have watched one of Stuart Turner videos this morning on how to fit new seals etc. Tempted to have a look myself

We have a Stuart Turner pump misbehaving. When you turn the taps or shower on in the bathroom there has been a hesitation before the water comes out for quite some time. This has now got much worse and it takes about 10 seconds for water to start to flow at the taps. Why is the pump taking time...

Thanks Rob and Conny. Looks like it was an air problem. I turned off the pump. Ran cold water through the hose (minus shower head) for 5 mins. Turned to hot and ran for 5 mins. Switched off the water running from the shower hose and waited for 30 minutes before switching the pump back on...

I realise it's not part of CH but he drained the system down to change valves and had all the taps open to do so, without switching pump off. Am I right in thinking the pump has a run dry cut off?

We recently had heating engineer in to do some work on CH and he drained the system down. Is it possible he did some damage then? Maybe he didn't turn the pump off before hand.

The pump kicks in but the water doesn"t come out immediately as it normally does. As I said, there's a pause of 3 seconds before it comes through.

We have a Monsoon pump in the airing cupboard for our shower. Just lately when we turn the shower on there has been a hesitation before the water comes out. Just a slight hesitation initially but now 3 or 4 seconds. Is it on the way out? No fall in pressure that we've noticed. Any suggestions?

terryplumb Yes I know about Legionella but it is steaming hot. It would be dangerous if we had elderly or young in the house. Just wondered if there are any other issues we've missed.

Plumber/heating engineer said most people have it set at 60 degrees Will set lower and see, thanks.
