[IMG] Is there any way you can undo internal door lever and manually pull on cables? Inner cable may even be seized inside so a bit of wd40 may help.

Get a garage to look at live data and as it seems to run ok when hot i would be looking at coolant temp sensor readings to start with.

Take it to a vauxhall specialist not a jumped up tyre place and they will tell you common leak is above fuel tank
Like i said in your other thread above the fuel tank is a common place for them to corrode on a Vec
Probably leaking from corroded brake pipe above fuel tank. That is the common place on Vectra's
Have you checked egr cooler. Pipes on these crack.
The cap allows the system to pressurise raising the boiling point so you need the cap on.

Put a groove in with a router
If you got a metallic noise coming from turbo you shouldn't start the engine at all just my opinion of course.
The Vectra uses a CDTi engine that is of Fiat design
