    Jack Arch - Acrows?

Sound, I'll place an acrow and bought a prestressed concrete lintel for the opening (1.5m) to replace the loose bricks, rendering chap felt his beading would adhere better to it anyways. I'll just take it easy. Cheers for the help

    Jack Arch - Acrows?

@^woody^ I'll wack an acrow in just to be safe. In this area, know there isn't masses of load with the wall being small but would the original timber framed window have been bearing the load for that wall? There's a large timber lintel on the internal skin but nothing except the jack arch and a...

    Jack Arch - Acrows?

Hi, I need to replace the loose set of cut bricks forming overhand above this PVC window with a lintel (mainly for aesthetic purposes) before rendering. My feeling is the Jack arch is self supporting especially as the bricks below are loose, would you place some acrows in whilst taking the...

    Soffits and Render

Cheers @^woody^ I'll have a gander at them. I'll have a look at taking a bit of soffit off tomorrow, think the wall end is pinned to a batton against the wall so could poss loosen it off the batton, fit the J trim and pin back up again.

    Soffits and Render

We're having the house re-rendered. House was build in the 1920's and the soffits currently butt up to the original render. Company have come out to take off the old render and advised as the new render (PRB system) is going to be thinner than the old render type there will be a gap between...

Cavity tray help - upturn / idea

Hi everyone, Always get decent advice off here so was hoping someone may be able to help me puzzle this one out. Extension has been built off plans and front end has a single pitch/lean to roof to go on (bottom right hand side on house pic) Bricky placed cavity tray on wall as sits on rsj's...

    Opinion on padstones

Hi @tony1851 We've found a fair few bits as he's gone a long that don't seem quite right. Sound, I'll take them out as I'm sorting the pillar and place horizontally. Thanks for advice

    Opinion on padstones

Hi everyone, Just tidying up a rough opening where I need to fit some bifold doors where an old window used to be. Some of the bricks were missing from when previous occupants placed window and going to replace the bricks and repoint pillar before running up with stihl saw so there is a decent...

    Kitchen Island Waste

Thanks, well that's nice and easy. Gonna use a reducer as it comes out the floor but it's what the groundsworkers left me with (have had to take up the oversite they placed as too thin) when they did the extension drains. At least we shouldn't get any blockages

    Kitchen Island Waste

Just about hardcore/concrete etc new kitchen floor. I've got the 110mm waste pipe in place for the kitchen island, do I need anything other than a 90 rest bend and 110m pipe coming up out the floor for the above ground plumbing/traps etc?

    Old gas utilities in way

Hey @CBW Yeah think that might work, I'll do a bit more digging to see if there are any others in the way. I've circled the pipe on new pic

    Old gas utilities in way

Hi Everyone, We're in the middle of a part self build extension and come to light we'd need to reposition the svp to avoid an awkward pipe run through the new roof. Dug out the ground to where rhe groundsworkers have placed the drain run to reposition the svp. On digging out thought I was in...

    Soil pipe routing idea

Sorry for confusion meant I was happy to box in the soil pipe across the wall in the bathroom tbh. It'll run where the black mark is on the image above. Think although it'll be a bigger box internally it'll lead to less hassle long term. Just puzzling how to join the bath waste but think it'll...

    Soil pipe routing idea

I'm happy to box the pipework in internally and think that's gonna be best option, running the bath/sink into the svp in the current position leaves them horizontally passing through roof and think it's asking for leaks. Would you have the soil pipe run past the area where the bath waste comes...

    Soil pipe routing idea

Hey @Hugh Jaleak, Yeah gonna move the SVP outside the footprint of the house. In hindsight, think we should have done that but it's only really come to light for me one the walls are up and can see the position of the roof at the front. The new SVP will be further forward, corresponding...

    Soil pipe routing idea

Any ideas how best to get divert the bath pipe to the new stack? I was gonna go with the toilet soil into the svp at far point under the bath but this would mean soil runs straight across where bath waste currently goes and don't think joining straight into the side was the best idea incase...
