flue exiting on a wall beneath flat roof

I am considering all my options for flue positioning on my single story flat roofed kitchen extension. i would like the boiler on the kitchen wall as high as possible above the worktop. this in turn wuld mean a horizontally exiting flue will also have too exit higher on the outside wall...

    Acrow prop specs

Im not, and havent at any point disputed any of this. Please reread the previous posts and the original question. opp² + adj² is additive. Yes I know you use trig to calc inclined forces. I was trying to keep things simple for Norcon :)

    Acrow prop specs

I a not wrong because I said 'if they were tilted' NOT vertical. Please read the posts CAREFULLY before replying as its makes you sound like a silly billy :) edit even if it was vertical then the rules would still be the same except the horizontal force would be zero. ?? At what point did...

    pointing stonework

Most of the stone (sandstone) and lime mortar built houses around where I live have been repointed with a portland and sand mortar. I have read that this is not a good idea, and I have noticed on many of the houses the stone is spalding. I dont know if this is just natural due to the age or...

    Acrow prop specs

I used 6, 12 would have been over kill, 2 insufficient. 2.5m was the final span of the opening, the acrows needed to support the whole width of the lounge and hall until the pillars were built. Thanks for all the posts its been amusing.

As mentioned see previous thread of mine for job. You were very useful then tony :) I didnt say this or even imply it, just ignored the statement as it wasnt answering my question?

    Acrow prop specs

True, and the props must be able to take the load regardles of how vertical they are or how the pressure is distributed evenly

    Acrow prop specs

The quoted load is in kN as its taken from my calculations to deduce UB size and they are worked out using kN. Calculations are done in Newtons as this is a unit of force, and we are dealing with force. Tonne is mass which is constant. Force can change depending on a number of factors. Take...

    Acrow prop specs

Thanks oldun, most useful Those values are much higher than the values in the australian table i my first post. Do you know if Acrows differ significantly around the world.

    Acrow prop specs

The spacing cannot be deduced until the number of props are established. This is simple common sense. Read previous threads for job in question Im not repeating it here.

    Acrow prop specs

Hope you are not operating in my area. They will only take the force that they are structurally able to withstand and thats dependent on their individual strength and the number used. The latter of which I am trying to work out. Their spacing, individual pressure distribution and alignment is...

    Acrow prop specs

Why is this question relevant to what I asked ie the load bearing capacity of a single acrow prop extended to 1.5m I would have asked if they were being used and I couldnt work it out myself. If you are more interested in the job Im doing rather than the question search my previous posts.

    Acrow prop specs

Maybe my question wasnt clear. Im looking for the load bearing capacity of a single prop, nos 1 and 2 which are extended to a ht of 2.5m When I know this I can calc how many I need to support a load of 65kN. The span is not relevant for the calculation. It doesnt matter if its 5m or 10m the...
