    Sounds possible and I will weigh up if this is possible. Just a bit worried about tapping the pins in to other bits surrounding the affected areas in case I knock those off too. Again, Many Thanks for your help and I appreciate you taking the time to help out.

    Thanks all for the useful information. After sanding off the paint at the knot sites, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Zinsser B-I-N paint treatment was 'white' (for some reason I expected it to be a Brown solution) and it was great to apply. Again, Many Thanks.

    Ha, nearly 70 but still playing in a Rock Band!! Yes, I don't know how I'd have done all that if I was still working. In your case it will be harder for you...but you will get there. Just look back -on when you started and Remember to take lot's of Photograph's.
