    Filling Loop

Update to this, things got somewhat bizzare. So a week after the tundish started letting off cold water (And still unconfirmed why) a second leak started. The unvented tank started weeping water out of the upper immersion heater socket. A baxi tech came out and tried a replacement seal in the...

    Filling Loop

Ahh, yea that must be inside the boiler then because it's nowhere to be seen anywhere else.

    Filling Loop

I would assume it's a system boiler. The amount of piping is way less than our previous homes combi. Without being infront of it to have a look, from memory it only has 3 pipes that are all 22mm (water in, water out, gas in?) then one smaller one for condensate?

    Filling Loop

Thanks for the replies guys. We dont have a red expansion vessel at all, if they are any different to a white one ?. We have a white one above the unvented tank that says "Charge 3.5 bar" on it & not much else. Certainly no gauge on it or anywhere else in this cupboard. Is there any standard...

    Filling Loop

Good Afternoon Folks Had a plumber over yesterday to inspect why our tun dish had fluid going through it and after being unable to do so, asked that I "keep an eye on it" .... System has a service with a different company next week so they will do more thorough checks I hope. Anyway, point of...

Pressure relief valve? leaking - sort of

Thanks for the reply oldbuffer The system was last serviced 29/01/2021 and is due another at the end of this month. If im reading your post right, under healthy running conditions, this should not see any flow ? The house is a new build (Jan 2020) still under warranty so ive asked them to...

Pressure relief valve? leaking - sort of

Morning folks Quick question im sure all you plumbers will know. We noticed a leak on our living room ceiling/wall yesterday and found a large puddle in our water tank cupboard but could not spot the cause. After a shower a few hours later all was obvious. I cant upload a video as its mp4 but...

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

This was my thoughts also, it seems absurd to employ an electrician to ensure the other can do his job. Re the gas leaks, its defo worth doing. After living in a new build with an outdoor gas meter, we discovered the outlet had been fitted with no seal, just a nice amount of over tightening...

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

This is where I was surprised with the process. Before even visiting the site to inspect the installation they "require" me to provide photographs and written evidence of all CUs, MCB part numbers and manufacturers, required cable route, photographic evidence of earth bonding and meter details...

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

Thanks Owen I wasnt aware of any data cables going in aswell, I assumed it would be all over wifi these days. But yea, sinking along the front was the only way I could think of hiding it until sparkys ideas above

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

Excellent That route is the same path the feed for the garage CU takes. Up inside the wall between plot 3 & 4 then sideways through the ceiling to the garage.

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

Trunking there wouldnt be any issue, and the ceiling void and joists do run in favour of passing a cable side to side accross the house towards the garage.

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

The main house or gym CU? The main house CU is 1.4m up inside a floor to ceiling cupboard. No coving The gym CU is also 1.4m up mounted directly to the block wall. The gym internal walls are metal stud all the way round with a 75mm void. No coving but then a cable could goes straight through...

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

Yea the gym can have anything it needs, it's just a roughly boarded room with a bit of insulation to keep the frost off the equipment. Even along the exterior wall infront of the garage door would be fine, it's the front of the house and that corner that worry me if it ends up being heavy cable.

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

Loft space is accessible yea. Three storey town house so a fair run. Cable length would end up around around 50m once going up, round and down. Re my cavity issue it's not with placing the cable in the cavity itself, but that being 4mm and being surrounded by insulation protected by 32A. I...

Cable Routing Options - EV Charger

Evening folks Im in the midst of arranging an EV charging point in our home and Podpoint (have to use them due to it being a lease deal with free charger install with some installation exceptions that are going to cost) are asking for loads of details including what route I want the cable to...

    Additional Sockets in Garage

I'd probably remove it and put it up on the ceiling joists out the way until all the studding is up then bring it back down just before fitting the board it will sit infront of. It's currently shoulder height but I'd like to coil up a meter of it and fit the CU into the upper corner where wall...

    Additional Sockets in Garage

Thanks EFL, wonderful advice. Regarding the installation of a ring, I didnt mean as such that its not legal to install one, but more so that I myself am not allowed to install a new ring circuit from scratch. Extend is what I will do :), if its currently using 4mm TE, does that have to...
