old drafty house.
No boiler modulation.
No TRV's valves (removed many decades ago apparently)
I need a new thermostat. What a minefield!
Any Help welcome.
I don't need to control it remotly from the house! though if it had that...
Will swa fit in conduit easily ?!
Bottom right isn’t vIR though.
could be other bad stuff in the house though
So out of the grey sheath are a red and black wires. Put one in the top left and one in the top right. Doesn't matter which way round....
Could have been worse.
Have you messed with the upstairs switch too ? :cautious:
has it ever worked correctly?
You could have a 16A timer inside the house to only turn it on during cheap hours + a bit more.
if it were a switch you may forget and be really...
You need a pic of the upstairs switch
See what colour is in com
this wire colour needs to be the same as the downstairs com terminal
A trip goes in the fusebox :cautious:
Don’t see why not !
well the new RCD maybe stopping the water heating.
Is it in the up posisiton.
Pics always help
you don't mention your electric supply cable. So avoid digging into that!
I presume you won't be as deep as any of the other services though
But do you need more than 60 miles every day? No?
7Kw chargers are difficult to source at the moment. So don't rush.
Be better off with solar...
maybe a loose connection behind the sockets that's don't work, or next to them.
Have you dared the try the kettle else where ?
Suspect I was wrong.
Do you have 3 lights ? Is that why there are so many cables in the box. ?
To me the grey and black on the left could be the wrong way round.
But its dangerous just guessing
You shouldn’t have 2 elements on at the say time.
You may need something like this.
Once you had a new CU with RCD protection. (or RCBO) you wouldn't require any other RCDs
It’s wise to spend your money on having the CU upgraded. This will have RCD protection
