    Insulating very short pipe

It recommends that or solvent weld in the manufacters instructions and I did not fancy the larger bore of the solvent weld going through joists etc... Also I could get better formed and sweeping bends with the copper.

    Insulating very short pipe

Hi, I have just installed a macerator and the discharge pipe (22mm copper) exits the external wall of the house and enters the soil pipe. This section of pipe has a very small length and a bend, i.e 2" to bend and 2" to soil pipe. Standard insulation would look ungainly and probably fall off...

Electric Showers - KW and relation to pressure/flowrate

Hi Guys and Gals, Something that always keeps me guessing is the relationship between an electric showers KW and whether you get a higher water pressure. I know that the higher KW showers heat the water up quicker but is that where it ends. Is there a calculation relating the the KW...

Thanks again. I do believe I charged the system with cold water first and then kicked the boiler into action. Does that change your view of the possible problem. The Cat

New rads causing issues - inc. picture of layout

Another very quick question. If draining down a system, is it necessary to close both valves on a rad (to save draining it all and wasting inhibitor), or can I just close the TRV/wheelhead valve and leave the lockshield where it is. Thanks again.

New rads causing issues - inc. picture of layout

is this a sensible power flush quote?

I do regular powerflushes and tend to quote in the region of 300 - 400 for a standard house. All my equipment is paid for, the chemicals are in the region of £40, no more. Its a full days job if done right, also depending on the amount of debris that needs clearing. I once spent 2.5 hours...

New rads causing issues - inc. picture of layout

Here is a schematic of the pipework I did. Is this right or should there be 2 separate runs for each rad. Or am I just being daft and there is just an air lock somewhere. Thanks
