How many posts for this deck

Hi Probably should have put a bit more detail on that, so another highly detailed, to scale plan how does that look? black blobs are posts, going to run joists down both sides of posts, and then run joists off these, obviously put some noggins in as well. Stuart

How many posts for this deck

Hi Sure I should be able to work this out, but keep coming up with a lot of holes to dig. Sorry for the hand drawn picture but don't have access to fancy drawing programs. The short run top right buts up to, but not attached to, a garage, rest of sides not attached to anything. Bottom run...

    Composite decking joists

Hi I am about to lay around 30m2 of Millboard decking in my back garden. I was initially going to make the frame from timber, but I am worried about how long this will last, not as long as the decking thats for certain. So looking at composite joists instead, however can't find any details about...

2 port valve for underfloor heating

I have underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. Each floor has a 2 port valve on the flow so can work independently from each other. Just wondering why the flow to the underfloor heating needs a valve to it. If the underfloor heating thermostats aren't calling for heat all the...

    Towel radiator on secondary system

Onetap I bow to your greater knowledge, rad was a replacement not a new install. Does this help with why the rads are developing holes after a short period of time?

    Towel radiator on secondary system

Some signs of white deposits on circulating pump. The SS rad has gone not just on the welds but along the pipes themselves. Surely to effect the rad that quickly, any problems with the water would be very obvious. Not to mention hazardous to health.

    Towel radiator on secondary system

House is fed off a spring, the coffee the client made us tasted ok  Cant see 2 rads being faulty, different suppliers/ construction.

    Towel radiator on secondary system

Not sure about pipes to other rads, but plastic up to the rad in question. First rad was expensive, second average price. Surely even a cheap one, if actually made of stainless steel, would last longer than 3 weeks.

    Towel radiator on secondary system

Hi Recently replaced a towel radiator on a secondary system, not sure of model but was a Myson brass one with chrome finish. After 8 months this developed a pin prick, and showed evidence of corrosion. Sent back to Myson for testing, and after a lot of chasing they say they can find no...

    Help with loft conversion please

Hi I have just been upstiars and wondered could I do it another way- Foil straight onto underside of joists then knigspan, and then plasterboard. this would give a nice big airspace around the joists. Would I need to create an airgap below/over the kingspan? If so how big? Thanks Stuart.

    Help with loft conversion please

Thanks John I am resigned to the fact i will have to strip it all out and start again, just glad i didnt get to the plastering stage. :) I am thinking what I need to do is- 1. drop the kingspan down to allow min 50mm gap between it and slates. 2. then allow another 40mm to the foil stuff...

    Help with loft conversion please

Hi yes roof is unfelted. it is in very good condition and any leaks delt with before this process. it is 100% an issue with condensation. having had a night to think about this I believe my desire to keep the head height has meant I have compromised all the air spaces and this has caused the...
