    Abacus concept shower base

Has anyone installed an Abacus Concept1 raised shower former? Been looking at it and I can’t see why I couldn’t just use a slab of Cellotex to do the same job as the Abacus base? It doesn’t have a cement skin like the former or the boards it just looks like solid blue foam. Would be...

1965 concrete garage floor - Hardcore Below

I dug a channel in my 55 year old garage floor for 110 soil pipe and noticed the hardcore underneath is just old house bricks (whole and half) as well as general building rubbish. It also seems that its sunk down as I can reach under the slab a little next to the cut. Is there anything that...

Is this bad? Found under soffit trim

Thanks, It’s damaged and i can’t see how the loft was getting ventilation previously as it sealed the overhang against the wall. I was more concerned about if it was the nasty asbestos. So it’s all coming down one way or another and being replaced by upvc board with continuous vent grill.

    Upvc door on cil

Thank you. I didn’t want to order the window until I saw the door in and couplers ready so I can measure the gap. I think now it’s the metal ones with covers I need. So will try those online places mentioned. TimerCompositeDoors doesn’t do the couplers.

    Upvc door on cil

Hi all, After laying the cill I am looking at how the door sits on it. Seems I can rest it just inside a raised lip or use a rebate in the door to slot on to the cill. See photos. My question is which one is right in the rebate or inside the lip. I have used an off cut from the cill in the...

Add on Strip to door frame

Perfect thank you C39. Also, that explanation is a match to what the builder was trying to say. :) The screws @600mm in the middle, they are not the concrete screws? Small self tappers maybe?

Add on Strip to door frame

the door was custom ordered using the solidor configurater, i included an add on within the 970mm gap because nI was told to by the builder, he said once the inside was platered it would look better from the inside and open better. I could have ordered it without the strip. So glue strip to door?

Add on Strip to door frame

Hi, The hinge wall is the outside side wall of the house1.5 m away from the front wall. The lock side is a new wall built as part of a porch. Its only 1 metre high as there is a "Flag" window od sorts to the right of the lock side. I would say there isnt a frame in the traditional sense as its...

Add on Strip to door frame

Hi, We got a Solidor with an add on strip (15mm) the builder recomended an add on strip because of the door location. Question is do we glue the strip to the door before we fit it, or, fit the strip to the wall then the door? My instinct saye we should glue the strip to the door with super...
