Need abit of advice on how to level this muddy garden

Hi I'm trying to level this garden in preparation for either turf or fake grass, I haven't decided which yet but either way I need it level and firm. The garden used to be all concrete so this was all smashed up and dug up back to the clay/mud that you can see now. It's basically a large mud...

Bay window tiling and porch flat roof to pitched roof conversion

Ok so how would a normally designed pitched roof porch be? With brick pillars to support the roof?

Bay window tiling and porch flat roof to pitched roof conversion

Ahh really? Surely a pitched roof doesn't weigh that much more than the flat?

Can I convert my old metal soul pipe to plastic?

My mums house still has the old metal soil pipe outside and leading to the toilet, it's leaking quite badly where it meets the toilet and also looks abit of a mess outside. I'm going to change it all and replace the toilet at the same time, can I just cut the old metal pipe towards the bottom...

Bay window tiling and porch flat roof to pitched roof conversion

Ok thanks, the actual bay window tiling sounds easy enough. When fitting the celotex insulation in does it need to be literally squashed in or should there be some sort of air gap? Also you say the porch frame might not be strong enough, which frame do you mean? The wood around the top of the...

Bay window tiling and porch flat roof to pitched roof conversion

I suppose the only way to find out what's behind there is to pull a few tiles off and have alook. I've seen some pics online of what others have done and they have managed to fit the celotex in between the original wood.

Bay window tiling and porch flat roof to pitched roof conversion

The actual house roof has plenty of loft insulation in it if that's what you mean. It's it not something I could do myself, I'm pretty confident with all diy.

Bay window tiling and porch flat roof to pitched roof conversion

I'd like to redo these tiles on the front of my house as they are a mess and it's very cold and mouldy inside that bedroom. Here's some pics: How would you go about it? I'd like to convert the porch roof to a pitched roof at the same time and tie both in together. Is this easily done? Any...

Ahh is that so any water will run out? I wasn't going to bother with the mesh as I didn't think I need it for a basic garage?

My garage base ready for concrete but want to check a few things first, pics inside

I have finally got my garage base ready for the concrete to be laid and just wanted to check a couple of things first. Here's some pics: That is the MOT type1 compacted down. I have the damp proof membrane to go down and then the concrete. Now I'm only going to fill the concrete about 4...

Garage build - Upto DPC now how do i do the base

Ok that makes sense. Is there any advantage of tying in the floor Dpm into the wall? Or is it just the same as putting a separate one on the wall? Also do you think I should dig out the random bricks on the floor before i start prepping for the floor?

    Self build Garage from Ytong

Yeah here is where i'm upto so far, still very much a work in progress You shouldn't use arated blocks, you need to use proper concrete blocks, the ones i'm using are 7N dense blocks

    Crack in Brickwork

As woody has said, I wouldn't have plastered over that without sorting out the brickwork first even if it was just filling the gaps with more cement
