    TV mounting help

Hi, I've just realised that the new tv I bought is 65 inch and the existing mount (link here) is for 55 inch max. Is this a problem? It does seem to rest on it ok. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S94N2FM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Additionally, the best position...

Can I just smash this up?

Just to close out this post! My old builder was passing and he had a tool that look like a small hand held pneumatic drill and he 'top sliced' it. He said it was a real tough one and really bedded in. Charged me £20 for 15 mins work. Gave him a bottle of wine as well as I thought that was too cheap.

Can I just smash this up?

Not enough height. The stones would then at the same level as the base of the door ledge. Plus I'd need so many bags of chippings and at £13 a bag from B&Q they were the more expensive ones.

Can I just smash this up?

No. It's just a patio slab at the end which matches the rest of the patio out of sight. It was just put there to put plant pots on etc. The other small square brick thing was going to be a little storage box or something built up but was a stupid idea. Hence the idea to have the pathway all the...

Can I just smash this up?

Oh wow! Is there anything I can do to just modify my 'normal' bosch electric drill? I don't have a hire shop near me.

Can I just smash this up?

I've got a hammer drill! Do I need a special 'chunky' bit though? How would I use a chisel with it? I guess hammer and chisel after I've loosened up some of the brickwork with the drill and a 'special' bit?

Can I just smash this up?

Hi, Missus wants this pathway cleared for new slabs and stone chips. However, there is a raised platform at the end that at the very least needs to be levelled. It seems to be cemented into the shed base I guess. I thought I could get a spade under it to lift it out but it's big and well...

    Do I need a brickie?

Thank you. Surprised it's doing that after ten years although the frost does get into the wall and makes the wall white in places. How long a job is that so I can gauge quotes? Half a day?

    Do I need a brickie?

Hi, Just noticed when sweeping up that my wall has gaps in the brickwork now where the cement has disappeared. Is this a problem yet? TIA John

    Fence decision

Thanks. Immediate effect then as soon as it dries and then renail? No scarring?

    Fence decision

That is really interesting thank you. So I could remove baton by baton, treat the black stains with acid and then immediately renail with some stainless steel nails? Big job or little job? Either way cheaper than 1500 quid for new batons. So something like this and rub it in with the steel wool...

    Loft hatch advice

Do you think the original firm then were less than good? So I just need a decent loft ladder firm to do it this time?

    Fence decision

The staining is so bad that I don't think it will get any worse now. New panels would set me back 1500 quid I think so not an untidy sum. So I remove the panels, apply oxalic acid to the wood and then renail with stainless steel nails? Will the acid work or leave a different type of 'scar' in...

    Fence decision

Hi, My other project I am mulling over. The guys who did our garden project 2 years put in these cedar batons but then used nails that have leaked/rusted or the nail gun used some form of lubricant. It just looks terrible with these rust patches. I looked at the other side of the batons and...

    Loft hatch advice

Hi, I need some loft hatch advice. When we moved in 20 years ago some company called Artisan lofts or similar put the loft hatch on the underside of the wooden surround so you could then pull it down with a metal skewer and the ladder comes down with it. The problem was that the loft hatch or...

    New gate help

Hi, Excuse my complete 'denseness' on this matter! I need a new garden gate. Do I buy the gate and get a man to fit it or is it best to go to a specialist gate place if one exists? I asked my home improvement 'expert' mum about this (She's like Mrs Bucket!) and she said B&Q gates are thin and...
