    USB heated portable electric blanket

I want to buy a USB heated portable electric blanket to use while watching TV. Is it possible to run this via a mains adapter with USB ports or are these ports only for charging items with USB connectors? Thanks.

    Connecting aerial to TV

Ok, if you say it's not a log periodic then I'm sure you're right. But you'll see from the link I posted that the item came up as a result of the search I did on Amazon for log periodic TV aerials. But thanks for the details of the Log 36. I'll have a look on the Sheffield firm's site.

Thanks. I appreciate hearing what your experience was and how much was charged.

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thanks for that but as I don't possess a compass and also as I'm not sure how I go about getting the bearing from my house to the transmitter, I'm starting to lean even more towards getting a Pro in.

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thanks again. I searched on Amazon and, to be fair, there were only 2 which were more than £100, and the next down was about £70. Here is the top one (£130+)...

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thank you again. That's really helpful. I don't think there are any intervening large objects, trees etc so I don't think reception will be affected for that reason. But again I feel I'm a bit out of my depth. I see that you can pay over £100 for a log periodic aerial, unless a cheaper one would...

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thanks again for your reply. I checked out the transmitter using the link you provided and my postcode (TS5 6AX) and it gives the most likely transmitter as Bilsdale Tower. In the column "Reception Summary" it gives 2222, which means nothing to me. You were asking about my aerial so I've...

How do you kill the root of a small tree that has grown in a garden wall?

Thanks for that. I see on ebay you can buy one capsule for £6.99, cheers.

How do you kill the root of a small tree that has grown in a garden wall?

I noticed today that the top two courses of bricks in my backyard wall were separating. When I looked at my neighbour's side of the wall I discovered that there was a small tree growing out of the side of the wall. I'd been aware of the tree there because it was well above the height of the wall...

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thank you for your reply and thank you to everyone who's advised me on here. But to be honest it's starting to sound quite complicated, and with the prospect of having to go on the roof and also the possibility of having to buy a special tool for the job, I think I might just follow your last...

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thank you again for your answer and for giving so much time to it, it's been very helpful. I do have a TV licence and have had one for 3 or 4 years now (since whenever it became mandatory to have one for watching catch-up even). And you actually need a licence now to watch any TV, whether BBC...

    Connecting aerial to TV

Ok, thanks very much for that, even though I'm not sure I understood it all. But from what I understand of what you're saying it's no advantage to use the satellite-type screw-on connector rather than the bare wire one. Talking to some friends, they suggest that the way to go is to get a...

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thank you for your reply. Sorry but I'm a real ignoramus on these things but can I ask: When you say it can be a satellite-type screw-on connector, I presume that doesn't mean that if I use that method I'll be able to get more channels through a satellite connection?

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thank you for your reply. The run of cable would be from the roof aerial (of a two-storey house) to the ground floor living room. Not sure if TV was manufactured in the last 20 years, I'll have to check on that. Its model code is LE32R87BDX/XEU (Samsung).

    Connecting aerial to TV

Thank you for your reply. It's a Samsung TV, Model LE32R87BD, Model Code LE32R87BDX/XEU, Type No. BP32EO. I attach a photo of the sockets at the back. The aerial is pretty old, probably more than 15 years old. It's on the roof and it looks like I've cut the cable a couple of metres from the...

I guess it's not too difficult to attach coax to the aerial? And will any coax do or does it have to be a particular standard? Thanks again.
