Well the extension was started. But now I can't continue due to various issues. So want to stop and just put things back to how it was. All that's happened is wall has been knocked out, and a steel put in place.

I had full planning, but started the extensions dug footings etc. Now I want to cancel the build and reinstate the house as it was. Do I need to inform the council??

Yes I agree would love someone to design and build but it's so difficult to find that person who will tackle everything. Also it's working out rather expensive due to location of area I live in outside london...

Is it worth me going to my LA and explaining situation. Will there BC step in and help or make things more difficult for me... We have since learnt a steel beam supporting external wallbis in wrong place, and the column in middle on a padstone may need to be removed and replaced...

Yea i got planning permission, it's been on hold since then. Mainly due to structural problems of steel and column pad in wrong place. Plus drains etc. I dnt have other drawings, havnt got anywhere to turn to now. I probably need to get a structural engineer and foundation specialist involved...

Yea I knw I can't pursue him, it's done. My biggest concern is around complications about drains and room layout. I need help with sorting layouts and redesigning a bad design

Yes the builder is operating under a limited company....

I did look at changing to the local authority bc. Issue I may have here they may ask me to dig pilot holes for existing footing. They wsntt 1m deep but it was about 850mm so may even ask I dig it all out again. I do want to change but every angle is a risk

I've I've that bc officer saying he needs to inspect the wall is built back to standard else he fail it.

Problem with reinstating the wall BC inspector saying it has to meet regs, be 1m deep and have cavity insulation. This brings the wall out to much. Also new foundations under the existing house could cause settlement issues. Issue with putting the extension up, I don't have the drainage design...
