Regarding my pic in post 10 - Could I put a 22mm Equal tee in on the horizontal line, just above where i've marked it, then run 22mm pipe back to header tank. Then cut the 15mm pipe downstairs in the airing cupboard and put a stop end on it? I'm confusing myself :LOL:

Yep it's completely cleared all the way to the pump, I'm really surprised it's going up the vent considering the suction from the pump. Could it be from air still in the system, or a bad layout? Otherwise I think the method Johntheo5 suggested is the way forward. Thanks again for you help with...

So you were absolutely right, completely choked up at the cold feed and vent area. I've now cleared it and replaced some pipe. The system is now getting nicely hot everywhere. I took the pump head off for a clean as well, and it was free of magnetite. When I put it all back on the pump was...

That bend at the bottom scares me but I'll give it a go. Annoyingly the magnet is sticking on the first bend after the mag.filter, so carp has got backt there too!

I took the head off and cleaned out the impeller with a cable tie so should be good. Can I buy a new impeller? Worth a go. Thanks for your reply

Yes all balanced as far as I'm aware. Ive tightened the lockshields up as much as poss upstairs. Does it matter that at the end of the line downstairs is the biggest rad in the house? Cheers
