    I don't know much about foundations. From inside the garage, I can see a concrete slab/floor, and the garage walls surround this and aren't built on it. The brick has sunk a bit in one corner.     Would it be unusual/necessary to have the foundations removed when demolishing a garage? (We want to get rid of old delapidated garage to give us a bigger garden and will probably put down turf and a big shed in its place.)

    Cracks in brick garage wall

    It's hard to tell. There are some thin cracks in the cement below the window, but they don't go lower then 3 bricks from the ground. I don't have a car and only use the garage for storing gardening stuff so the best option for me is probably to have it taken down and get a good shed.
