Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

Plumber came back that week, he said the 8.8 reading wasn't correct. The system is gravity fed (small header tank in the loft). Everything's been fine for around 10-11 days... and then I found another pool of water last night. It's now making me wonder if it could be the drain that's...

Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

Supposedly according to the manual? (pic attached) Plumber has been back earlier than expected. New trap has been fitted and everything seemed fine. Leak has stopped most importantly and rads and water heated up.... But weirdly the unit has fired up on its own a few times since he left (and...

Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

Finally got hold of someone who luckily was doing a job on the next road, he's been in and removed the old siphon trap which was full of sludge but also 1 of the pipes was split. He's ordering a new one and coming back. Weirdly though, he said the float was missing. Has anyone seen that before?

Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

I noticed Glow Worm offer a one-off fix for £399. Is it the condense drain that they'll probably need to replace? (the £399 feels a bit OTT just for that but I'm struggling to get hold of anyone who can come out quickly where I live). I can see the blue cap underneath is it worth undoing...

Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

Thanks for the quick reply. With the condensate hoses leaking, is it likely to be a fairly low price job, as in will they just fit a new condensate trap or hoses etc (I'm always concerned they'll try to write the boiler off and sell me a new one)

Condense drain leaking - Glowworm 12HXI

I noticed a pool of water on the worktop recently and assumed it was jus spilled from the kettle (the boiler is fitted nearby). I also remember this happened a couple of years ago and again at the time, it wasn't a huge amount of water so just assumed my wife has spilled water when filling the...

    Fitting 2x BDR91s - Wiring Advice

Hi stem, thanks for all of your help (I was half expecting to be shot down). I'm switching to an Evohome controller with the hot water kit.

    Fitting 2x BDR91s - Wiring Advice

Can anyone confirm the correct wiring needed to fit 2x BDR91 receivers? I have a Y plan system with a Gloworm 12HXI boiler, a Grasslin Towerchron QE2 programmer in the kitchen and a thermostat in the hall. From what I can gather, 1 is HW off, 3 is HW on and 4 is CH On on the current programmer.

Separate programmers on Y plan system

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll go for the Hot Water Kit too then, I just didn't see much of a use for it (aside from seeing the tank temp on the controller).

Separate programmers on Y plan system

I've been considering a Honeywell Evohome controller but I have a Y plan system. This means I would I need to add the "Hot Water Kit" (which uses a battery operated cylinder thermostat). I don't really want this and I'm happy to run my existing programmer on a regular timed program if...
