    Can not find a 76mm / 44mm deadlock?

Hi Just removed a deadlock from a fire door and it’s an unusual size? The case/depth is 76mm/3” but the backset is 44mm. The only locks I am finding with 44mm backset are 64mm/2 1//2” ? Anyone advise please. Thanks

Advice -UPVC door handle/spindle 7mm - to small??

I can’t find handles with 8mm spindles? Why cant I do the opposite and use the shins in the mech part and use 7mm handles? It is there somewhere I can get 8mm handles of the type I have linked? Thanks

Advice -UPVC door handle/spindle 7mm - to small??

Hi all I recently purchased a new handle as old one was old and the 7mm spindle was spinning/slipping in the door mechanism. You could actually see through the spindle hole in mech where it had rounded off. I then put in a spare 8mm as these I have only seen on the past and it worked fine...

    Quick question Thumbturn euro cylinder?

That’s my thinking. Safety both sides. I’ve had to remove door stop and grind deadlock of from the front entrance/ wooden door. Knightlatch was usual simple. The thumb euro was fitted under a grant scheme years ago. It does not need one with regards regs but it’s a better option to gain...

    Quick question Thumbturn euro cylinder?

Just in my mates and talking about. He pulled thumb turn out of the draw and it rotates both sides with key inserted. It was one of the brands with a letter Q on it. Seem loads of them about. Surely they all do as it’s reversing the safety aspect to outside as u can not gain entry.

    Quick question Thumbturn euro cylinder?

There might be 2 types then? It’s a standard 100mm (50/50) ams I have lost the key. Tried about 20 spare keys in it and no joy. Don’t mind if I have to swap it for a standard cylinder tbh. I just need one I can open from other side with key inserted in opposite. Cheers

    Quick question Thumbturn euro cylinder?

Hi all Somehow I have managed to lose keys to a thumbturn euro cylinder lock. Can these always be opened from the the outside when locked inside? As I know most standard euro cylinders do not let you open from one side if key is inserted on the the other side. I have just tried it with...

ADVICE -Is there any way to adjust/lift this door?

Hi All Git a fairly old UPVC door here but I can not see any way to adjust it? The opposite side from hinges has dropped. These are what are fitted? Looks like pins in them vertically but I can see a bit of thread protruding but no idea how to access them plus even wound all the way I don’t...

Intellisense Securit 800 keypad advice sought.

Suss what? Like I stated it’s very basic yet the info provided above to set a new code does not work. I did to reset the NVM though. As I stated 1234*91 does not enter mode to enter new pin. LEDs 1-4 do not illuminate. I work on much more complex things than alarms mate. Cheers

Advice - Door mechanism. -Wrong size bar??

Little update. I have just found a spare bar as I have loads and compared it and it is definitely bigger. But only slightly Current one that is spinning in mechanism is -6.9mm My spare ones that feel/look correct size -7.9mm. Used a cheap gauge. It does not fit in existing the door...

Intellisense Securit 800 keypad advice sought.

Yep sussed that I had to just press # when I had it that mode when I could see it trigger the PIR/ 4 zones. I had the 24hr led off I think withn 1234#. Not 100% how but it is off It already triggered when I got there as tenant had removed the control box cover. so it seems the alarm is...

Intellisense Securit 800 keypad advice sought.

When I do 1234* it does same tone beep and whatever zone/PIR is being activated shows on the corresponding pad. When I do 1234 to set alarm I it does a dual tone beep but does not seem to set the alarm ON? The PIRs are getting activated though when I was doing this. Would this prevent it from...

Intellisense Securit 800 keypad advice sought.

Alarm is stopping with 1234 as above but it seems as if it’s not the code to actually set the alarm on and off as if u were leaving the property. Ive tried 1234* as someone above stated do that then enter new pin. But when I do 1234* it beeps continuously and it’s like it’s in monitor mode as...

Advice - Door mechanism. -Wrong size bar??

Hi All Just been to look at a friends rear door as they said it was not working and they have removed handle and bar. They have been ‘turning’ the inside square of the mech with a screwdriver/pliers and have rounded it slightly now. I asked for the handle/bar and was amazed at how small the...

Intellisense Securit 800 keypad advice sought.

I have just been called to a Securit 800 (L?) as external sounder was going off. Only the rear one? I suppose these also have internal batteries. I think the rear external battery is now dead though. I removed the the cover on the internal control box and obviously it triggered the tamper and...

Advice- Do I need to use silicone/Fernox LS-X bath waste?

Hi All My bath waste always seems to leak after a few months. I have always fitted the cheap McAlpine £6 plastic type with push on overflow and used cheapest Screwfix silicone. I have now purchased a proper McAlpine CBWF70CB as in pic. I have been advised by local plumber to add a small...

Advise please -Can not open window. Bottom latch not moving?

I think it travels down to engage as the other windows do (ie they both travel in to close and expand/travel out from handle to engage lock) I just googled a spreader bar and bondage gear showed up pal. I’ve got loads of pry bars. I think this one would do it. It’s quite thin. Thanks for...
