Any idea what's going on here?

Hi fellas, Apologies for the delayed update, I got sidetracked with a couple of other jobs in the house. So, I've wired as per post 16 and all appears to be working fine. I opted against wiring for the timer as the current set up suits us just fine. Just to say a big thanks to all of you who...

Silicone shower corners - can I do this?

Completely screwed it up. Used a Fugi tool but still made a complete mess of it. Damaged the vertical line of silicone and couldn't smooth it back as it had started to cure, so removed it and one of the horizontals. Stained the grout with the silicone (after doing a good job) and now its looks...

Silicone shower corners - can I do this?

Hi again, Finished the tiling and grouting at last now to the silicone. I've got a Fugi profiling tool and some decent silicone. Due to my less than perfect tilling, I've got a gap of 4-6mm in one of the corners. Am I able to silicone flush with the tile? i.e. instead of using the angled...

    Primer Sealer for bathroom floor?

Hi. I'm waiting to paint the floor boards of our bathroom in a light off white from Little Greene (oil based). Currently the floor is painted white and I've sanded down for a good key. However, I've been carrying out work in the bathroom and there are lots of stains on the floor from plaster...

Can I still grout? Genius tips anyone?

Brilliant! Well, I suppose its all a learning process! What you've said obviously makes a lot of sense, if only I knew that before..... As it is, I've dug out the grout and I'm going to change to the white grout. The grey was drying much darker than we expected, and my tiling isn't that good...

Can I still grout? Genius tips anyone?

Yes mate, white subway tiles (non-bevelled) I’ve cleaned the grout out. Did you mean leave it as is for a couple of days then grout with the white stuff? I’ll crack on with the rest of the enclosure in white for now and come back to the crap bit in a couple of days? thanks for the advice mate

Can I still grout? Genius tips anyone?

Hey Jamie. Well, what a nightmare! Grouted about a .8m2 area and I got very light grey areas appearing on the tile, like some colour had absorbed making a border. I've removed the grout and cleaned out as best as possible. If I let the old grout cure, can I use a white grout when I start...

Can I still grout? Genius tips anyone?

Thanks Jamie. Awesome, I'll get on it now! Any advice on how big an area to start with? Got a shower enclosure of 8m2, 3 walls and metro tiles with Tilemaster Grout 3000.

Can I still grout? Genius tips anyone?

Thanks mate. Not an option at the moment sadly, I've not tiles and the backer board will come with it. I've little doubt it will cause more drama than what its worth. My wife didn't notice them until I pointed them out. I'm basically just concerned about sealing them. Its far from ideal, but the...

Can I still grout? Genius tips anyone?

Hey again, Just about to grout the shower and discovered 3 tiles are chipped on the edges, each is 2-3 mm in width. Is there a way I can seal these to prevent any grout colour bleeding or water ingress. Pretty dissapointed as we wanted it finished yesterday. Thanks again guys, you've been a...

    Wrong Grout?

Cheers. I've got 3 sides of a shower enclosure of metro tiles to do. I'll look at splitting it down as per your advice. Any recommendations as to how much to bite off for a single 20 min grouting session??

    Wrong Grout?

on another forum (for tilers). Also read its a difficult grout to work. Looked at TM Grout 3000, but that sets too quick for a DIYer. Going to grab some Kerakoll Fugabella Colour, think its flexible also? Thanks man

    Wrong Grout?

Got some gunmetal Micromax2 for a shower, now I've been reading this is bad to use and not suitable due to scratching the tiles etc. Any opinions, should I be using an epoxy grout instead? thanks all

Any idea what's going on here?

The neutral has [I think] been connected to any random neutral point hopefully on the lighting circuit and very probably at the bathroom light fitting. Can the cables be traced in the loft? - It's a victorian terrace, its a closed roof space above. If you want to use the timer function then...

Any idea what's going on here?

The 3/4 wires are about 3m apart, so unable to do the above? Also, there are zero readings from the cable that has the neutral into the junction box. All electrics and lights are working, could it be this was intended for something else? Where is that neutral likely to goto? Another question...
